Sep 24, 2019

According to the Russian satellite network, Russia’s 3D Bioprinting Solutions managing partner Heshouani said that Russian astronauts will use 3D bioprinters at the end of September to print rabbit, bovine and fish muscle cells on the International Space Station.

According to reports, all results of the experiment will be sent to the Earth for research. Hesuani also said that the manned spacecraft "Union MS-15" scheduled to be launched on September 25th will carry a special sample box for 3D printing to the International Space Station.

According to Hsusumani, the experiment will be carried out immediately after the spacecraft docked with the space station. Currently, bioprinters operate in experimental mode. The tissue sample printed is not large. As of now, astronauts have printed human cartilage tissue cells, mouse thyroid, bone tissue samples and protein crystals.
